Daily Goodie Box Review!

The personal opinions and reviews expressed on this blog (Down Side Up Mommy) belong solely to me. The reviews posted on this blog are my own thoughts, ideas, impressions and opinions of each product. All reviews are my honest opinion. I have been compensated by free product to write this review.

Recently I was approached with an opportunity to review a product called Daily Goodie Box. I received the box in the beginning of January and was pleasantly surprised by the products that were inside. The box came small enough to fit in my mailbox but held quite a bit of products for me to try.

The first thing that caught my eye was the Natralia naturally Australian anti itch soothing cream.  I have a lot of problems with skin rash and this wasn't a little one ounce bottle tester. it was actually a 3 oz tube that I know is going to last me quite a while! I liked that it was thick and creamy and not thin and watery. It did have a little bit of the medicine-y smell, but I think that was the menthol and as soon as the lotion dried the smell went away. I actually liked the lotion and it really does relieve my itch symptoms.

The second product was a bag of Gary Poppins light popcorn. There was all kinds of little advertisements on it that boasted that it was a healthy popcorn! it's gluten-free, but not only is it gluten-free but it certified gluten-free which is a big deal for those with celiac disease because gluten can make a celiac very sick. A lot of companies write gluten-free on the box but sometimes don't even test their batches of food to see if they're actually gluten free. People that have celiac disease and eat these foods can get very sick. The fact that this popcorn is certified gluten-free shows to me that this is a stand-up company that takes this gluten free issue very seriously. It also advertises non-GMO verified. There are only 90 calories per bag, it's cholesterol free, it's a good source of fiber, no trans fat and the only ingredients are popcorn, coconut oil, sunflower oil, and sea salt. This food is made in the USA.  At the time of writing this it's 8 o'clock in the morning and I'm still on my first cup of coffee so to be honest I haven't even tasted this popcorn but I already am very impressed with this company because of how much they have been out of their way to make this a healthy food. EDIT: I tried this popcorn and it is plain but good! great quick snack! My kids ate the bag before i could even get another handful!

Also in this box was a packet of snoozeberry flavored powder to add to bottled water.  It is drug free, fast acting and you wake up refreshed according to the advertising on the package. I personally stay away from sleep aids because i have kids that wake in the middle of the night, but i am going to keep this for when they're at their grandparents for the weekend!! I think this product is very smart. Get your water before bed, it will have some flavor to it, and you get to take your sleep aid, all at the same time instead of having to take pills or drink yucky liquids!

Check out this little bar of Heaven from raw rev.  Raw Rev is a vegan company. This item is also non-GMO and gluten-free however it is not certified and could be contaminated with gluten because it is manufactured close to wheat products; possibly on the same equipment - so probably not the best thing for a person with celiac disease however it has 11 grams of protein, 13 grams of fiber, and only 3 grams of sugar. That's great that they can create a peanut butter and chocolate bar with only 3 grams of sugar and it still taste good!  It's packaging quotes Alice Benedetto, Rn, founder and owner "This bar is made from minimally processed plant-based ingredients, infused with raw superfoods and loaded with antioxidants, Glo will leave you feeling satisfied and radiant from the inside out."
Taking my first bite, I wasn't too sure if I like this but it actually wasn't too bad. It definitely isn't a Snickers but it is something that I would invest money in in the future or recommend to a friend.

I loved the packaging on this protein and energy bar by EM+PACT. The blue is my favorite color and the polka dots just make it that much better. I know that's probably the least of people's worries when they're hungry and need something to eat but I have yet to see any kind of packaging like this so I thought it was really cute. The coconut cream flavor with almonds and chia seeds was a good flavor but to be honest I'm just not a big protein bar type person!  My daughter took it from me and ate it and really enjoyed it!  It has 10 grams of protein and is also advertised as gluten free but I do not see that it is certified gluten-free. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

The beanfield nacho chips with the first thing I opened in the box. I have never had them before and I have to say they were not at all what I expected. I expected something like a Dorito however these were more like a Dorito dipped in bean powder? It almost had a thick taste.  Although that may sound discouraging it was actually really good and I plan to buy more!  This company is also selling their products certified gluten-free, non GMO and vegan-friendly. In my daily goodie box I received a coupon for $0.50 off any bag any flavor which I very much appreciate and will use it whenever I buy another bag.

My last and final product to talk about out of the daily goodie box are flavored energy drink mixes by Alsa.  I received three flavors including dragon fruit, pomegranate blueberry, and three citrus. This product is advertised as the smarter, steady energy that takes you through what you have to do and get you to what you want to do. Check out all of the awesome information provided with this product.

I didn't even realize i took a blurry picture until after I tried them all and discarded the packaging! This is a perfect way to introduce an energy boost that's tasty and easy for on the go!

The product was also advertised is gluten-free although information on it being certified gluten-free is not listed on the packaging.

I think this is a great goodie box. I really appreciate boxes like this because I was able to try products from different companies that I may not have heard of, otherwise. These products could be incorporated into your daily life and  I can really appreciate that this box was entirely gluten free products.   The purpose of this review was not to speak about Celiac Disease, although I thought it would be a great opportunity to help raise awareness. I think this box would be great for celiac disease sufferers to try, although I recommend for those to exercise caution for the products that are not certified as day may contain small traces of gluten (less than 20ppm). Another great thing about this box was that everything was great for on the go, and taking with you, The convenience packed into this box is amazing and I was very appreciative to have had the opportunity to try these products in exchange for my honest review.
